taylor & benjamin : texas
the kind of clouds you dream about and want to drift away on. the kind of rain that’s so thin and misty it settles like a fog. and all the greens sang to life and those tender touches and hand brushes and laughs and heart pounds—those things just magnified times a million because good glory that soft, hazy, autumnal light. that’s not a sentence but it’s how i felt.
the watsons : austin, tx
the sweetest cleanest spills of light and the brightest room and we laughed a whole freaking bunch and margot just kept dreaming away. all in a silvery afternoon.
kate & ben : napa, CA
dappled light on every surface. the greenest greens and richest ruddy reds. the sunset went on forever and they sipped wine and threw back cookie dough balls and danced until they had to leave.
nat & con : vail, CO
i’ll never forget the drive in. walking through vail with nat and her fam the morning of the wedding. the welcome gift they left at the front desk. or watching connor kiss natalie through the window with the glowing lights of the city below. eating the most incredible meal with the most generous, loving people.
laurel & isaac : through fields
i don't know if there's anything more summer to me. than golden fields full. spilling over with the haziest light. stretching on forever and ever. laurel and isaac are the loveliest people. brought closer through a difficult season. in love through and through. he saw her at a party. and now a few years later their gonna swap vows.
california haze
shooting with the sarah seven team is always a high for me. shot a lot of stuff I loved last year and then sat on it instead of putting it out into the universe. but i'm putting it all out there now. i love (obviously) shooting editorial work, but I'd also love to put a little more of that feel into my weddings. not sure what that looks like yet, but it's june and i'm feeling inspired.
sara & otis : lady bird johnson wildflower center
i've said it before. a good getting ready space is better than the best cup of coffee as soon as your feet hit the floor. a good getting ready space is better to me than the coolest venue. it's where you spend most of your day. it's where the biggest chunk of your photos are taken. it can be used for portraits with your family or bridesmaids or first look or just you.
jordan & mike : the LINE hotel
it was a perfect day. quiet. overlooking the hollywood sign, and griffith. soft grey sky in the morning, mysterious coastal fog sunset in the evening. no bridal party. no traditions they felt they had to adhere to--just vows on a rooftop. brunch in a tent. and then, the beach.
mike & cherisse : the belmont
looking at all of the guests below—the quiet glow of the candles and pendant lights. the band was playing “where is my mind” and people were dancing and scream singing along. toasting champagne. and the weather was perfect. in this little alleyway slice of heaven. tucked under palm trees and vine covered walls under the glow of red and purple and blue and yellow stage lights.
coal & lindsey : on the lake
the night before the weather said there was 100% chance of thunderstorms at the time we were supposed to start. but instead we got beautiful fog and soft muted clouds. and then the sun came out full and strong. and to get both in one day isn't such a stretch here. you never know what you're going to end up with. some kind of magic.
sus & josh : east texas
this wedding. it was. like thanksgiving dinner. or stars growing heavy and bright off of silvery tree branches. like your grandmother's backyard--the one you climbed trees in. like being home. i’ve tried to write out what this day meant to me and how it felt to be there but i can’t come up with the right words. i will say this—i’ll never forget that in the middle of the reception, i was alone for a moment. i saw the dance floor, and people in line at the bar—some seated mid conversation at long tables—the whole thing lit by an autumn moon and soft yellow string lights. and i felt weightless and overwhelmed with gratitude and blessed that i was there seeing it. i felt my eyes fill up and peace. such peace. thank you, Lord.
