peyton & jon

you couldn’t meet lovelier people. kinder people. warmer people. more welcoming people. we got up heckin early. two flights and then richmond standing in passenger pickup waiting to meet Peyton and Jon in person for the first time.

her wild red hair, his long steps. the gentleness between them. the years that led to this.

we ate a quick lunch around a kitchen island, saw historical landmarks, talked a lot about food and film. took photos that i love love love. in their home and in their car and overlooking the city. and at the end of the day we ate together and talked a lot about disney plus and played bananagrams before crashing in their living room. it was sweet and restful and full and easy. a strangers turned fast friends sleepover.

and as we waited for our flight home, snow fell in buckets and great big flakes and i feel like seeing that first snow of winter just summed it all up. so special. a treasured 24 hours. i just love em’ so dang much already.

i would do this day over and over and over again.
